Yay it's time to announce my new comic, Afflicted !



Promo image is kinda crude but that's cuz I wanted to get started on the comic =/

Style: The comic will be dark and grim. It'll be nothing at all like Freedom Fries besides being gory and awesome. The comic will be in greyscale with some colour here and there and possibly some b&w. It will be drawn better and in more detail than FF and in a different artistic style. It's hard to put it into a genre because it's kinda a cross between fantasy, horror, sci-fi, and weird. It's NOT a humour comic though so if you're expecting a goofy random comic like FF then you're expectations are flawed! It's pretty original I think so it should be interesting.

Format: The comic will be full-page and will follow a storyline. It will be broken up into chapters and each chapter will have a cover page.

Schedule: A new page will be posted once a week, probably on Mondays. I still plan on doing FF 5x a week. However I'm starting college now so if I can't keep up I'll adjust it (since school is more important than comics.) I do plan to stick with 5x a week though.

URL: The site won't be up for a bit but it'll be at http://www.afflictedcomic.com when it's up.

I'll probably be posting random sketches and stuff until the site is up.

That said, I have really enjoyed your dark, crazy sense of humor in Freedom Fries and I hope you keep it up.

(And does anything else think LC's style seems reminiscent of Executor Arthas?)

Well there's not really anywhere better for this to go and I'm really excited about it... I could barely wait till now to announce it =x So excited in fact that I registered it on Comicgen 3 days after I got the idea for it.

Part of the reason I made the thread is so the strange people who read my comic could talk about it and/or ask questions. I put a link on my site to this thread so hopefully people will come (I've been disappointed that nobody posts in my FF thread so hopefully this will be interesting enough to get people to register here and comment.)

Anyway this isn't so much of a pitch thread as an annoucement thread. It's not as big a deal to you guys cuz I've only had FF on comigen for 6 months but I've been doing FF for about 3 years now so this is a really big deal for me.

And lastly, it's weird that you reference that comic since it's so obscure. It's kinda sad that they went through all that trouble and only made one page However judging from that one page it's really very different than I have planned. Afflicted's art is better than that comic, though . I really don't think I've seen anything like it. Just like FF is a very unique take on the humour genre, Afflicted should be a similarly unique take on the horror genre.

Saying a bit much but as I said I'm very excited...

i just use pencils & pens & sharpies & photoshop ^^

i have some brushes but i haven't used them in a while =/

Argh, I'm going to rebuy everything tomorrow... that's what VISA's are for, right?

I'm sure the art store loves me since this is my second time buying these supplies in 2 weeks.

I use mainly India ink and brushes, although I'm not sure I want to spend the money to get the color inks... but I'll see how much they cost.

Else I'll be doing mostly black and white comics for a while.

Ooooh... creepy. First of mine is up too, although I'll be changing it to something different so this is limited edition (I was working out Comikaze and had this scanned) 3 Crazy Robots

NOTE: I haven't put down any design or format yet for the website, I'll be doing that later today... thats why its just the image and a hugely spaced news post... I'll be lowering my images to a width of 600pixels (or around there) once I get the design in place.

thanks, i'm really focusing a lot on the subtle stuff like atmosphere. like here in the first page, i tried to establish a sense of dread since you know that something really bad's gonna happen but you know you can't do anything but watch and see what happens.

i don't mind if you post stuff about your comic/s here =D this isn't really a whoring thread either, it's more of a "look! i have a new comic! yeee!" thread.

A comic I will be reading for sure. Whether or not I find the time and will to read through Freedom Fries... (I read around 100 webcomics... and that pretty much satisfies me)

Oh man though, I just can't wait to see if its the kids or the guy who's the stupid one...
